How to Leave a Review for Blue Care Network

I liked the people I worked with. My peers were very nice people.

I received excellent training from a more experienced employee when I worked at BCN. I was on the road visiting providers and solving claims issues for hospitals. My trainer was very friendly and assisted me daily until I learned to solve provider issues on my own.

Not the best

They is okay, they don't pay the best for what they do..they are seriously into micromanaging. The company was at least pretty okay before the pandemic, now they are all OVER THE PLACE.

Cons

Short lunch, No room for advancement

They hate union employees

In my opinion they are trying to bust up the union so they are punishing my union employees for being in the union by not allowing them to work from home during the Covid outbreak despite employees constantly being sick. The Medical information specialist job is really just a call center and they are severely under staffed the leadership is horrible and all they care about it is answering the phones not our well being. Whenever there is a COVID outbreak on our floor we are made to evacuate and drive to South Lyon and continue to work. We are penalized if we use our PTO that day. It's so many people trying to leave that it is hard to get into another position because basically all the other employees are also applying. The unit leads are rude and catch attitudes whenever you ask for help. The leadership is cold. You are expected to sit on the phone the whole day take no breaks you get one hour lunch and they are really strict about it there is no grace period if you are even 1 minute late you get an attendance occurrence and 4 occurrences equals termination that minute also applies to lunch so if you leave at 12:05pm and come back at 1:06pm you get a tardy occurrence as well and are penalized. They want you to have a college degree for the job but don't pay more than jobs that don't require degrees

Pros

Health insurance is cheap

Cons

No breaks no help over worked and underpaid

The company does not care about its employees

Blue Care does not care when it comes to its employees. Since the pandemic began the employees have had to work in office. The company provided hazard pay for a moment but back in June it stopped but employees were still expected to come in the office even when they're were active covid19 cases. The company hides this information from its employees and said employees can't work from home because the company is not going to pay them to be at home taking care of their kids.

Cons

Hours, can't work from home, not notified of active Covid cases

Blue Care Network

Blue Care Network Has great management. A typical day was 9 to 5 a lot of phone calls for Prior Auths. I loved my job At BCBSM. Workplace Culture was amazing. Most enjoyable was dealing with my associates and my medical staff

Mke it work for you

Starting as a customer service rep. The company pays well, but if you want to advance, network and remained focus and you can achieve your goals and advance.

Good company

I completed this a few times. Good company no options to work from home good benefits good pay need to allow people to work from home in order to keep them

Organized chaos

My typical day consists of multiple leaders and employees needing my assistance; managing calendars, ordering office supplies, taking notes for meetings, facilitating meetings and events, and much more.

Waste of time

I was hired as a sub-contractor (this way they could avoid benefits, proper pay, and benefits)...when they decided they were done with my department we were all "let go." Total joke. Didn't learn anything other than not to put any hope in working for this company.

Flexible, Great Benefits

Flexible, Great Benefits! I love that the company offers pay ranges based on your title. There is also the opportunity to move up in the corporation, if you choose to do so. Every employee must complete an annual evaluation of their performance. Annual pay increase & bonuses are based on these evaluations. Benefits are great! '

Do these reviews help you learn more about working at Blue Care Network ?

Fast pace pharmacy environment, stress

Department manager B+, upper management D+. Work was located in a staff model facility, Which I believe closed in part due to mis-management. The best part of the job was helping people get better.

Productive workplace

Answer phones and give feedback on daily inquires for employees. Originate complaints for any grievance or appeal, assist with setting up members accounts online.

Working for BCN

Working for BCN the benefits and insurance are great, but there is no room for growth within the company. Management is not good. The job is easy, the hardest part of the job is dealing with management.

Work/life balance

Great place to work for work/life balance The knowledge from customer service can take you anywhere in the company Employee benefits and perks are an added bonus to an already great company

Great overall atmosphere but stressful team

The ability to work from home is great. However, caseloads are steadily increasing leading to longer hours without additional pay for salary employees. Work life balance is nonexistent as you are mostly working. Management does not care about the extra hours you as long as the job gets done.

Great place to work

A typical work day would include you doing your job duties and being monitored as a customer service representative. Micro-managing is a huge factor when working in any customer service position. Environment is great and diverse, just a lot of politics for job advancement.

Blue Care Network

Room for growth , awesome pay and benefits. Great environment to work in. Great work life balance and and leadership. I resigned to start a business but would love to work and retire from there.

Great place to work

Verfied insurance for members and providers, discused claims processed. Learned a lot of information about healthcare insurance deductiables and out of pocket maxiums. The hardest part of the job was keeping up with all the changes in health care. The most enjoyable part of the job was my team members.

Very disappointed in this company & it's culture

Trainers = favoritism Unfair & not transparent with training expectations Not upfront about status of your performance = very unfair Misleading H.R. waited 2 months when told I am basically hired & to find out later you have to produce within a few weeks otherwise they let you go. Could have been looking for a better employer who are up front & honest. Very poor people skills. Will give them a bad review. Would not recommend working for this employer. If you are crossed trained & hired for a certain position, they should inform you the position you were hired for isn't necessarily the job you will perform (what a let down). EXPECTATIONS SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT, otherwise you are wasting a honest, hard working employee's time. Please learn how to value your employees & help them succeed, that is what a true leader is. Thank you

Pros

Not alot of pros, low pay for high expectations
